Biography of Stand up Comedian Chelsea Handler
In October of 2008, it was announced that the program was renewed by E! and will run until 2009. The show's format opens with a roundtable of 3 guests, followed by one-on-one interviews with actors and comedians, in addition to off-the-wall, humorous sketches. Recent guests have included Lance Bass, Jenny McCarthy, and Tom Bergeron, among others.
Although she is currently best known for "Chelsea Lately", Chelsea Handler is also a comedian, actress, writer and author, with two books that have made it onto the New York Times Best Seller List. "My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands" was written as a memoir in June of 2005, with a compilation of humorous essays titled "Are You There Vodka? It’s Me Chelsea" following in 2008.
Chelsea Handler has performed all over the country as a stand-up comedian, most recently as a member of the "Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tou" cast, and her comedy can be seen on VH1, Comedy Central, and HBO. She has made guest appearances on a variety of television programs, including "Girls Behaving Badly", "The Practice", "Weekends at the D.L.", "The View", "Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld", and "The Bernie Mac Show".
In addition, Chelsea is a correspondent on "The Tonight Show" and was the host of FOX's "On the Lot" for one episode before she was replaced by Adrianna Costa. Since 2007, Chelsea Handler has been collaborating with actresses Leah Remini and Jenny McCarthy on the Internet-program "In The Motherhood", in which she co-stars and co-writes.
